The Tao of Gaming

Boardgames and lesser pursuits

Quick Thoughts from a small game session

Space Base — OK Machi Koro-ish game. Not different enough to make me want to buy it, but I’d play it again. Indifferent-plus.

Cryptid — OK deduction ish game that I don’t care for, although I do like hunting for the rare and delicious chalupacabra. Indifferent.

Oh yes, Superfight. Another “Who would win” party game. I believe I will surprise nobody with this one. Avoid.

  1. I liked Cryptid, although I might be more interested in the way it was created than actually playing it.

    • That’s kind of what I was thinking. I don’t particularly care for puzzley games, but I would be interested to know their ‘algorithm’ (or if it was just trial and error).

  2. I enjoyed Cryptid – though I’m wondering if the game will be better or worse if one is allowed to make notes. And I expect the puzzles are simply brute force generated; seems feasible enough to do.
