A stray bridge hand and snide comment ….

led me to make a (very) introductory post on Bridge Squeezes on BGG.

  1. What snide comment, may I ask?

    • I was dummy on the hand I posted and partner (a Flight B player who has qualified once or twice for the North American Open Pairs Flight B nationals) decided to play for the misdefense instead of the squeeze. (“Fell from grace,” in my BGG post). In his defense, it was late and for an overtrick at IMPs, so no big deal.

When playing on BBO I don’t actually reveal all four hands when I’m dummy (just the declarer, so I can decide what I would do). When he lead a club, I just did the equivalent of a raised eyebrow: “Squeeze?”
