The Tao of Gaming

Boardgames and lesser pursuits

I’m rather enjoying Friar Friese’s solitaire game. Good decisions, tolerable (card) randomness. I can’t quite put my finger on why I win some games and lose others, although I’ve got a good guess. (I just won my first Level 3 Difficulty game, and I’ll probably graduate to the full Level 4 game in another play or two).

So, a good investment for those rainy days when you just can’t be bothered to go to a game convention.

Rating — Suggest (and for a solitaire game, finding a group isn’t a problem).

Update — After a bit of experimentation, I think I’ve got the general strategy down, and have won 3 out of my last 4 games (at Level IV). The game I lost had an … unfortunate first draw.  But to counterbalance that, I got a game with 100+ points (a pretty good win, IMO). The other two were more typical 60-80 points.
