The Tao of Gaming

Boardgames and lesser pursuits

RIP Charles S. Roberts

At the bottom of the CSR Awards geeklist is a link to Mr. Roberts obituary. I had no idea that our hobby really only has a tenuous claim to him, compared with railroad history (which was his true passion). RIP.

  1. While I the winners were all good, I was a bit surprised to see how much basically unplayable crap was still nominated. 1805: Sea of Glory, Storm Over Taierzhuang, Halls of Montezuma … maybe the field is just thin these days.

I was glad to see Battle Above the Clouds win both categories it was in, that’s an awesome game. When Grant Takes Command came out (also an awesome game), it lost out to a couple lightweights.
