The Tao of Gaming

Boardgames and lesser pursuits

The coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time

Ladies and Gentleman, courtesy of Wei-Hwa Huang, the Race for the Galaxy periodic table.

[The other games can have this blog back when they pry it from Race’s cold, dead hands].

Update: Oh OK. Frank, I thought Galaxy Trucker was much better than mediocre.

  1. Yeah, I wasn’t quite sure which reviews Frank was thinking of concerning Galaxy Trucker; most of what I’ve seen has been pretty positive. Perhaps he was giving extra weight to Schloesser, who seems to be discovering his inner Grinch these days. Or maybe Greg is just guilty of the ultimate crime of not liking some of my favorite new games.

And you realize that periodic table means absolutely nothing to me. Maybe when I get more familiar with the design.

  2. I just got the chance to play Galaxy Trucker at Joe Huber’s on Saturday, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I think the analysis paralysis is mitigated by the fact that you don’t know exactly what the events will be.
